Supporting Families with Translated Perinatal Mental Health Resources

As part of our ongoing efforts through the Baby Plus You project, we are excited to announce the availability of essential perinatal mental health resources provided by the Brent and Harrow Perinatal Mental Health Team. These resources are now translated into 20 locally spoken languages, ensuring that even more women and families in our community have access to the support they need during this crucial time.

The Brent and Harrow Perinatal Mental Health Team offers comprehensive support for women experiencing serious and complex mental health conditions during pregnancy and up to one year after giving birth. Their team consists of specialist psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, and more, all dedicated to ensuring that women receive the care they need to maintain their mental wellbeing.

The translated leaflets can be downloaded below, and they contain valuable information on how the team can help, including:

  • Advice and guidance on pregnancy and pre-birth planning
  • Medication management and review
  • Psychological, social, and occupational therapy
  • Support for the whole family, with a focus on nurturing the mother-baby bond

If you or someone you know is struggling with perinatal mental health, these resources can serve as a helpful guide to understanding the available support and how to access it. The team works closely with mothers, families, and professionals to address conditions like postnatal depression and anxiety, which can make it difficult to care for both the pregnancy and the baby.

Why This Matters for Baby Plus You
