What is it?

Brent Young People Thrive (BYPT) is a social movement designed to reshape the perception and experience of mental health and emotional wellbeing for Brent children, young people, and their families. The project aims to de-stigmatise mental health and promote awareness by empowering communities and individuals through education and engagement.

The social movement focuses on:

  • Empowering communities to challenge the stigma surrounding mental health.

  • Providing education and resources to help young people, families, and schools understand the links between emotional and physical wellbeing.

  • Capturing the voices of children and young people, ensuring their experiences are at the center of mental health services in Brent.

  • Informing mental health transformation by feeding back key insights from young people to commissioners to drive service improvement.

This movement is aimed at:

  • Brent children and young people (0-25 years old)

  • Parents and guardians seeking to support their children’s mental health

  • Residents of Brent or attending school/work in the area
