Last Thursday, we gathered for our CB Plus Online Annual General Meeting (AGM) to reflect on a year of growth, challenges, and achievements at CB Plus. The event was an opportunity to look back at the impact we’ve made, celebrate our dedicated team, and share exciting plans for the future.
Key Highlights from the AGM
A Year of Achievements:
Tony Vardy, our Chair, opened the AGM by sharing key highlights from the past financial year. From delivering the Food and Me project to advancing digital inclusion, spearheading initiatives with the Zero Suicide Alliance, and hosting multiple Hub Connection events, CB Plus has been at the forefront of impactful community work.
Tony also took a moment to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of our trustees:
“It’s extraordinary. Everyone should know our trustees are the best we’ve had in quite a while!”
Our dedicated trustees continue to play a crucial role in guiding our mission and ensuring that we remain responsive to the needs of the communities we serve.
Exciting News – A Major Grant Secured!
Our CEO, Julie Pal, took the stage to unveil some exciting developments for CB Plus. One of the biggest announcements was the securing of a 7-year CityBridge grant to support suicide prevention initiatives across London. This funding is a game-changer, particularly for smaller organisations that often struggle to access the resources needed to provide life-saving support.
“At CB Plus, we will continue working with unheard and sometimes marginalised communities, delivering support where it’s most needed.” – Julie Pal
This grant strengthens our commitment to making mental health and wellbeing services more accessible across London.

Amplifying Women’s Voices – The MNVP Project:
Over the past six months, we have been actively involved in the Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnerships (MNVP) project. This initiative supports women who have given birth in the last two years, capturing their experiences and creating a space for shared stories and advocacy. Julie highlighted how this work has provided invaluable insights into birthing experiences and maternal care, helping us push for positive changes in the sector.
Governance and Looking Ahead:
The AGM also covered important governance updates:
- Jemma Mouland stepped down from her role as a trustee – we extend our deepest gratitude for her contributions.
- Trustees Chris Cormie, Anita Harris, and Tony Vardy were reappointed.
- We presented and approved the 2024 accounts, reaffirming our commitment to financial transparency and sustainability.
Appreciation for Our Team:
Julie took a moment to express her gratitude for the dedication of CB Plus staff, trustees, and the wider team. Their hard work and commitment have been instrumental in driving our mission forward and ensuring we continue to make a meaningful impact.
Looking Forward:
As we move into another year, our focus remains on delivering impactful projects, expanding our reach, and ensuring that marginalised voices are heard. Whether it’s through mental health support, community engagement, or digital inclusion, CB Plus will continue to work towards meaningful and lasting change.
Thank you to everyone who joined our AGM and played a part in shaping our future! Here’s to another year of making a difference together, and we hope to see you a bit later in the year for an in-person AGM.
