We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Silkstream Community Fund (SCF), a new initiative established as part of the Silkstream development, being delivered by St George, in Hendon.

Operated by CB Plus, the fund is aimed at supporting small organisations and charities operating within the Borough of Barnet by addressing crucial community priorities. Together, we strive to sustain and grow the local economy, improve wellbeing, and foster inclusivity.

How the Silkstream Community Fund Works

The Silkstream Community Fund is designed to provide financial support to local groups making meaningful contributions in Barnet. Applications for the fund open on Wednesday, 31st July 2024. Eligible organisations can apply for grants ranging from £1,000 to £2,000.

Application Deadline:
The deadline for applications is Friday, 30th August 2024, at 5:00 PM.

Eligibility:
To be eligible, proposed projects must address at least one of the three community priority areas: sustaining and growing the local economy, improving wellbeing, or increasing inclusivity.

Supporting Criteria

The proposed project will be evaluated based on the criteria listed for each relevant priority area. While it is not necessary to meet all the outcomes specified below, the project must demonstrate alignment with at least one criterion to be eligible for funding:

Sustain and Grow the Local Economy:

  • Employment and Skills: Improve employability or equip community members with new skills.
  • Micro-business Support: Help local entrepreneurs with startup costs or service expansion.

Enhance Wellbeing:

  • Community Fitness: Promote physical wellbeing through exercise or recreational activities.
  • Mental Health Support: Provide support services to improve mental health outcomes.

Foster an Inclusive Community:

  • Cultural Events and Festivals: Celebrate community diversity through small-scale events.
  • Accessibility and Education: Make spaces, services, and opportunities more accessible.
